What is a Training Site?
An AHA Training Site is a location authorized by an AHA Training Center to conduct AHA courses. As a Training Site, you'll have the ability to host and conduct AHA courses at your own facility, providing greater flexibility and the opportunity to serve your local community more effectively.
Emergency Response Services supports qualified instructors in establishing their own Training Sites. We provide guidance, resources, and ongoing support to help you succeed as a Training Site coordinator.
Requirements
To become a Training Site, you must meet the following requirements:
Steps to Become a Training Site
Meet Prerequisites
Ensure you meet all the requirements to become a Training Site. This includes having active instructor status and adequate teaching experience.
- •Maintain active AHA Instructor certification
- •Accumulate at least 6 months of teaching experience
- •Ensure you have taught a minimum number of courses (varies by Training Center)
- •Demonstrate consistent quality in your instruction
Prepare Your Facility
Set up your physical location with the necessary space, equipment, and resources to conduct AHA courses effectively.
- •Secure a suitable classroom space (minimum size varies by course type)
- •Obtain required AHA equipment (manikins, AED trainers, etc.)
- •Set up skills practice areas
- •Ensure proper lighting, ventilation, and accessibility
- •Create a conducive learning environment
Contact Your Training Center
Reach out to your affiliated Training Center to express your interest in becoming a Training Site. Discuss requirements and expectations.

- •Schedule a meeting to discuss your application
- •Review Training Site requirements and responsibilities
- •Understand the partnership agreement and expectations
- •Clarify any questions about the process
Complete Application
Submit a formal application to become a Training Site. This includes documentation of your facility, equipment, and teaching history.

- •Provide documentation of your facility and equipment
- •Submit proof of instructor certification and teaching history
- •Include photos or videos of your training space
- •Provide business registration documents (if applicable)
Site Inspection
Your Training Center will conduct an inspection of your facility to ensure it meets AHA standards and requirements.

- •Prepare your facility for inspection
- •Demonstrate your equipment and resources
- •Show your ability to conduct courses effectively
- •Address any recommendations or requirements
Approval and Setup
Once approved, complete the final setup steps including administrative tasks, system access, and initial course scheduling.
